In 2001, Veronika Hananyan founded Hope Ministry, a social charity organization to serve the elderly in Vanadzor. The ministry started with bread distribution to the elderly living in poverty in the surrounding towns. Veronika saw many in this program living on their own and needed assistance with their daily activities. Her vision was to start a home where she could tend to those who are bedridden and those who needed better living condition. In 2006, Hope Ministry started a nursing home to provide care and medical assistance to the elderly who are in desperate need.  

In this nursing home, Veronika has a baker comes daily in the evening to bake bread for the home as well as for the distribution. The bread ministry continues to reach many elderlies, widows and children and today, the distribution covers 7 regions such as Spitak, Gyumri, Artik, Tashir, Taron, Vanadzor and Yerevan. The groups of people who accept the Lord as their Savior through this ministry are entrusted to the local congregations.  

With the support from High5 give5, we began a new ministry to children from poor families by serving them a hot meal daily. There are 30 children in this program and this is an opportunity to create a special relationship between the elderly in the home and these children. The hope is that the bond between these two generations can grow into a grandparent and grandchild relationship, which can bring heal and joy to both groups.
