Today many Lebanese are suffering because of a broken economy. According to the United Nations, more than 85% of the population of Lebanon are living below the level of poverty. Thousands are seeking immigration or help from their friends or loved ones living outside of Lebanon.
As a church, we decided to rise up and to bring the Good News of the Gospel to those who are desperate around us. We are also very aware that many are unable to feed themselves and their families. In January 2020, we started to distribute food parcels to 250-300 families every month. During our visits, we spend time with these families, to listen to their stories and to share the gospel at every opportunity.
We want our neighbors, those in our community to know that there is hope in the middle of despair and there is an answer to their struggles and challenges. We have seen tremendous results because of this outreach. God is allowing us to enter homes with physical food and the hearts with spiritual food.
So far, we are privileged to see a few being added to the kingdom of God during these hard times. Our work continues with God’s help and the help of our partners.
