FIET GRATIA is an NGO that actively fights against Human Trafficking. It was founded in 2009 to help eradicate slavery around the world and in 2012 we became affiliates of Project Rescue International.
Our mission is to Rescue and Restore Victims of Human Trafficking.
Through our Detection Program we make weekly visits at the Detention Centre, where women may be deported back to their countries of origin or released. There we detect the possible cases of Trafficking. We help them by giving them basic needs. Kit that includes: toiletries, shower gel, deodorant, shampoo and conditioner and body lotion. It also includes new underwear (bra, pants and socks), leggings, paper tissues, comb, flip flops, a phone card so they can call family, coins to purchase water, coffee…a self-help book and card from our NGO.
After this first visit we then find out about their other needs as most of them have no clothes, money…and so we can bring them clothing, shoes and bags. If the woman is to be deported we will try to give her a contact in her country of origin and if she is released she may come into our New Beginnings Home. We have assisted women from over 50 countries and many women have had an opportunity to change their lives through our intervention. In our Street Outreach program we go to the areas where girls are prostituted. The objective is to offer help and try to detect and rescue those who are victims of Human Trafficking.
After care at the New Beginnings Home. When a survivor of Human Trafficking comes into our home we help to give her all the tools she needs to make her own choices and walk the journey towards a future of hope and dreams. We have a holistic and individual approach towards each woman´s needs and offer support in areas such as health care, psychological therapy, legal aid, educational skills and voluntary return for those who decide to return to their home countries. The women leave the home after they have completed their restoration process and are ready to live in an autonomous way in society.
