Caring for the Young and the Young at Heart
In partnership with Roma Church Darda

In Darda, Croatia, our church ministers each week to children from nearby Roma settlements and other local families through a warm, Christ-centered children’s ministry. During the main Sunday worship service, we hold a dedicated program where children hear Bible stories, take part in creative workshops, enjoy fellowship, and receive a nutritious meal—something many do not regularly have at home.

Beyond Sunday school, we host children’s clubs that welcome kids who might never attend a regular church service. Through play, fun activities, and simple biblical messages, we share the Gospel in a way children can understand, helping them experience God’s love in a safe and joyful environment.
We place special emphasis on Christmas and Easter, knowing that many of the children come from non-believing and very poor families who often spend holidays without a shared family meal or understanding of the true meaning of these days. For these occasions, we organize special celebrations in the church with a family-style meal, juices, cakes, small gifts, and a clear presentation of the message of Christ, so the children can taste joy, acceptance, and God’s presence.
Each week, around 30 children are served at the church in Darda. With an estimated food cost of about 3 euros per child per meal, this ministry provides not only physical nourishment but also spiritual care and a sense of belonging for some of the most vulnerable children in our community.
