Together, We Feed
In partnership with YWAM Philippines

A community-based feeding program in the Philippines serves poor communities through a holistic ministry that combines nutritious meals, worship, Bible teaching, and creative activities. The program reaches vulnerable children affected by economic hardship, recently intensified by oil crises and inflation that have made daily survival increasingly difficult for the poor.
1100 children 4 times a month
15 cents cost to feed per child
11 feeding sites
The team prioritizes cost-effective, nutritious options by purchasing seasonal vegetables, discounted meat, and ingredients that maximize serving capacity. Meals are prepared collaboratively using traditional firewood cooking methods, demonstrating resourcefulness and community cooperation.
Staff actively engage communities by using portable speakers and going house-to-house to invite participation, ensuring the most isolated families know they’re welcome.
Integrated Activities: Each gathering includes:
• Worship songs and praise to God
• Short skits or Bible stories aligned with weekly teachings
• Small group sessions for teaching
• Arts and crafts activities
• Communal meals served after spiritual programming
The program serves dual purposes: feeding spirits through biblical teaching and worship, while nourishing bodies with prepared meals. Participants consistently leave with “full hearts, full stomacomes, and big smiles,” expressing gratitude for God’s provision.
Recent Crisis Response: Due to severe economic pressures from recent oil crises, the program has expanded to include take-home food packages—providing each attendee with 1 kilogram of rice and 5 eggs. This addition addresses immediate household food insecurity while maintaining the community gathering model.
Program leaders report that hearts are opening and faith in God is strengthening daily among participants, suggesting the integrated approach of spiritual care and material support is creating meaningful transformation in these vulnerable communities.
