The Sanctuary Children’s Home in Ocna-Mureș, Romania was founded in 1990 in response to a visit to an abandoned children’s ward that revealed the deep need for care, attention, and family. What began with six children has grown into three homes that can care for up to 30 children, all surrounded by Christian staff who provide love, stability, and hope.

The Sanctuary Children’s Home began with a simple but life-changing response to the neglect of children in a local hospital ward in Ocna-Mureș, Romania. Today, Sanctuary operates three homes for up to 30 children, offering around-the-clock care through devoted Christian staff. More than a home, Sanctuary is a place of restoration where children are loved, discipled, and given the chance to experience Christ’s care in a family environment.

The ministry exists to provide vulnerable children with a safe, loving, and Christ-centered home where they are fed, clothed, taught, counseled, and nurtured as family. We believe every child deserves a childhood marked by security, dignity, and the opportunity to grow in faith and love.

Ministry Activities

• Feeding, clothing, and tutoring children and teens.

• Providing counseling and spiritual discipleship.

• Integrating children into local church life—worship, service projects, and elderly visitations.

• Offering vocational training in beautician/barber work, carpentry, bicycle repair, and sewing.

• Helping graduates attend Bible school with stipend support.

Impact and Distinctives

• Over 100 children have come to faith through the program.
